7 IMPORTANT POINTS ON HOW TO NEGOTIATE YOUR SALARAY

By: Faizan Ahmad

When you have cleared your interview and now it’s the time to decide about the perks that everyone is struggling in this world. It’s the time to decide about your salary package. Always remember the following points in your mind before you enter into this game of negotiating on your salary. Keep this thing in your mind every time that the salary package varies from one post to another and its important to look at the current post you have applied for so that you can decide what type of demand you have to put on the table.

Do A Research Before You Sit On The Chair:

So you have decided to go in? GOOD!! Well my friend, before going for any interview what you have to do is to make a general survey in the market so you should know what is the current salary being offered to the candidates by different type of companies. And especially what is the current salary package running for that specific post that you have applied for. Log on to the company’s website where you have an interview in a day or two. See what are the requirements of the organization and what is the portfolio of the management and what category that particular organization falls into. You should be well aware about the brief description of the related company. It’s like a battle where you have do your work before entering yourself into the field and if you are not updated and well prepared then most likely you would put your swords down and surrender!! GOOD LUCK BRO!!

Let The Ball Go In Their Half:

Always and always ask the interviewer first that what salary would they offer to you for this particular job. If he/she forces you to tell it first then say that you don’t have any idea about it and if still you are forced to tell it first then give them a range nearer to the one you are expecting like something around $ to $ !! Etc. After doing that you have to judge what type of reaction does the interviewer shows to you. You then evaluate whether your expectation is appropriate or not and is it possible to have a little flexibility in it so that you both can have it decided on a mutual platform. Its always better to have it said from the other side first because it gives you an idea and with the help of this you can make a change in your demands without letting the interviewer know

what is running in your mind right at the moment.

Always Act As If You Are One Hand Up:

If you are already doing any job then demand a higher salary then the current one.  Like if your are currently earning around 00.00/month then demand

Your salary to be something around ,500.00/month or may be 00.00/month or

What ever you think is appropriate according to the nature of the post you are trying

To get.  Remember that you don’t have to be rigid in any part of the interview so keep your spirits high dear. You are almost there!! It’s obvious that you are on a confident stage if you are already doing a job somewhere and mostly you get your demanded one.

You have the cleared picture of everything in front of you because you know it well that you are safe and secured because you have no fear of losing anything, you are already working on a salary scale.  So keep the nip in the bud!!

And If Things Are Not Going Your Way:

Now lets talk about the other side. If you are currently not doing any job and is called for an interview then most probably your confidence is not on the most higher levels. No problem!! Everything has a solution and I am saying this because I have been through all these stages and I have learned a lot after fighting on all these battles and

You know what? I have won every time after that. So, no matter if you were earning 00.00/month on your previous job , now its no more with you!! Try to realize that its

History and don’t keep that salary option infront of you while you are giving an interview

For a new job. This time the interviewer is one hand up to you so wait and let him/her offer the salary to you. If they ask you first then tell them exactly what you were earning in your previous job but but but don’t forget to add this line : “ Dear Sir/Madam, I don’t have any idea about the current salary expectations so I would be grateful to you if you could give me some idea that how much salary is deserving to me . This is the point where you have again took a chance and now wait for the reply from the interviewer. If they offer you something which is nearer to your expectations then don’t think anymore and give it a go!!! Accept it. You are almost done!! And if what they offer is not upto your expectations then think for a moment and try to negotiate and see if its possible that may be it could get raised a bit more. If it doesn’t then don’t waste your precious time and accept it. You are done!!

Never Ever Beg For A Job:

My friend, always remember that you possess your own level of integrity and of course you don’t want to loose it at any cost. So hold your inner feelings

because they would force you to become emotional to get a job in any case whether you are already working or a jobless individual. Put some breaks on your emotions and feelings and I do understand all of these as I have been through these phases many times throughout my entire career. Always have a faith on yourself and believe on this thing that if you deserve that job then you will get it!! And if you don’t deserve it then it’s for own good that you find another one because it’s not of your worth. BINGO!!!  Your ego, self-esteem and integrity are the most valuable assets to you and you never ever compromise on these assets of yours. Never beg for a job in front of anyone!!! You are talented enough to create your own path and achieve your target. GOOD LUCK!!

Be Patient My Friend:

No matter how experienced you are, no matter how talented you are, no matter how bold you are, no matter how clever you are, no matter how creative you are, no matter what so ever you are, always and always be patient in any circumstance. People come and go, things change a lot, time never stops but what you have to learn is “Patience”. I have seen many people ruining their careers just because of one reason; they did not learn to be patient. You may come over the stages where you might think that it’s all over for you but in fact its not!! The thing, which is missing, is the “patience”. You often find your fruits when you show patience no matter what field you are working in. May be you find anything which you are looking for and you gets it only because some body else has lost it due to impatience. KEEP GOING MATE!!!

Its Now Or Never; Make A Decision:

Opportunity knocks only once in a lifetime, that is what you should have a belief on. Intelligent people always make a click on the right time!! Why? Because they know the value of time and they work on this formula of “Now Or Never”. If you keep on thinking and thinking before taking any decision then that time might by pass you and you are left behind all alone. So learn to take the decisions on time and hit the right spot every time. BULL’S EYE!!! During the whole interview, what you have to do is to take your time and evaluate about everything and put yourself in a position to decide whether you have a worth of working in this organization or not? And when every thing is completed, the salary is up to your expectations, the post is according to your dreams, the environment is the most suitable one for you, then it’s you who has the final authority to decide whether to join them or not. BEST WISHES!!!

Functions Of Business Management

February 21st, 2012

It has been said that leaders do the right thing and managers do things right. While this is a subtle distinction between leaders and managers, in business, it can be the determining factor between failure and success. Unfortunately, it is one that often goes disregarded. Typically, the term management refers to the actions involved in four common functions of business: planning, organizing, leading and coordinating of resources. In order to better recognize and fully appreciate the functions of a manager and how they operate, one must first understand what the basic functions of management are.

Whether the system is an organization, department, business or project, the planning process typically includes similar activities that are carried out in some sort of sequential order. Often, a plan is implemented in a cautious and well defined manner. Part of the planning process involves some sort of organizational behavior. Organizing is typically viewed as activities utilized in an effort to collect and configure resources in order to implement plans in an efficient fashion. The role of an organizer involves a broad set of activities, and is often though of as one of the major functions of a successful manager. Organization can span many aspects of business.

While organization plays a crucial role within the management ranks, leadership and the ability to lead people must not be taken for granted. A leader can be thought of as someone who provides direction in an effort to influence people to follow a certain direction. Managers are individuals who are able to motivate by using a variety of well established methods such as facilitation, coaching, mentoring, directing, and delegating. Managers that have the ability to lead do so with a wide variety of styles. A great leader must be able to evaluate his or her resources and leverage them accordingly.

In today’s business market, managers are in high demand. The world has an endless amount of work to be done and needs all the help it can get; however, one must remain cognizant of the fact that management is not simply a job, but rather an art form. Globally, people can be managed in a similar fashion. The skills of a superior manager remain the same across board. If one can master the four management functions of planning, organizing, leading and coordinating of resources, their opportunities are endless.

Business Management – Qualities of an Effective Manager

February 21st, 2012

An effective manager can have many traits that make them stand out. For example, they can have excellent organisational skills, they can be very efficient at delegating or have unwavering loyalty. Although these traits are very important and essential the real mark of an effective manager is one who can empower their team. This means the manager has to be a leader, one who can inspire, motivate and energise people. To do this the effective manager understands that this leadership, inspiration, motivation and energy has to come from them.

Great managers have the ability to channel the passion they have for their work and the organisation through to their own team. When engaging with their team they are more motivated and excited to achieve their goals, create new ideas and be more productive.

A great manager understands the concept of leverage and applies it effectively in their role. They understand that they have to rely on other people to get things done and to make things happen. Therefore, a great manager has the ability to bring together the individual efforts of the team to reach a common goal.

In today’s business structure a manager’s role is forever changing. New roles and responsibilities are being added. One key area is that a manager must take on a more supportive role. They must have the ability to coach, motivate, and create a supportive environment for their team that values each team member. The key to creating a supportive environment in the work place is trust and openness. In this environment employees are more comfortable and confident to express their needs and ideas. When employees feel that their manager is open and willing to listen to them they feel more valued.

One of the most important traits of a great manager is communication. In a world that is constantly changing it is necessary that managers are effective communicators. There are so many ways to communicate whether it is by phone, paper or email. However, the most effective is face to face communication with your team. This should be used as much as possible when setting down new company targets, team goals as well as praising employees

Stress Free Salary: A Review

February 18th, 2012

I have been a full time online marketer for five years, mainly for other individuals. These are traditional businesses that want to expand into the ever growing “e” market. I specialize in SEO and social media. Until the economy took a real downturn and businesses cut their promotional budgets, I never sought out additional opportunities for making a supplementary income on the internet. When I did, I tested a number of different affiliate programs (I avoided the obvious scams and paid-to-click web sites). While they were authentic opportunities, several of them were either over-saturated or structured to benefit mainly the developer of the company. I was lucky to have not lost a great deal of money. You have to be cautious when it comes to the internet. There are a lot of scammers.

One day, internet marketera friend suggested I take a glance at Stress Free Salary.

I was lacking confidence. I was about ready to quit my quest for an online supplemental income and I really didn’t want to put time and effort into another failure. However, Stress Free Salary was free, so, I took a glance.

At first, it wasn’t very clear what Stress Free Salary was, because there wasn’t mention of a product. Then, it occurred to me that Stress Free Salary was a marketing system. The product was TWR Power System, a provider of website solutions. Advertising web hosting and data storage made sense to me. After all, I worked on web sites and was often looking for a good deal on hosting; but when I visited TWR Power System’s web site, I read “14 Day Free Trial”. Warning bells instantly went off inside my mind. Stress Free Salary was free, but how much was TWRPS going to cost if it needed a trial?

Less than thirty dollars per month.

.00 with Alertpay’s fee (the . Stress Free Salary said referring two people would cover it, but that seemed borderline expensive for my tastes, even for unlimited hosting. After all, I was just paying for hosting, not for them to develop and care for the web site. Plus, who was to say I would ever get two people referred?

After some research and reading third-party testimonials about Stress Free Salary, I decided to try out the 14 day trial and carry out the SFS Fast Start with hundreds of dollars in free marketing, which SFS assured visitors would bring success. For forty minutes of work, I have to say I was welcomely surprised! I received two referrals in my first week and a half!

Additionally, when I set up the web hosting, I found it was quite professional. There are a LOT of add-ons that other providers, like GoDaddy, charge extra for – disk space, extra e-mail addresses, e-mail storage, newsletter marketing, data storage, analytics, 3-click installs, etc. I was able to have my WordPress blog up and running in 15 minutes.

Since I’ve joined Stress Free Salary four months ago, the owner has improved the system with even MORE free advertising. He provides well over ,500 worth of advertising and I have a great team that has given me even more support and free advertising sources. I make an extra 0 per month, which makes up for the salary from my day job that I have lost.
I need only say it once – Stress Free Salary is NOT a scam! It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Business Management Skills -Trust Building Tips for Managers

February 12th, 2012

To be successful as a manager it is important to develop a relationship with the team that is based on trust. When employees trust and respect their manager they will give special effort especially when they feel trusted and supported.

Employees rarely excel under the punitive thumb of someone they do not trust and who they feel does not trust them. Without trust productivity suffers as team members play politics, spend time covering themselves and being compliant to dictates that they know are counterproductive. Lack of trust affects morale and customer satisfaction as the employees shift energy and focus from working on real life issues that affect customers to resentment and dissatisfaction towards management.

Effective Communication

Managers who communicate openly and frequently build relationship and trust with the team. They should not make team members guess what they’re thinking but should tell them. Employees can feel that no news is bad news. A lack of interaction erodes trust. Face to face interaction is the best method to build trust.

To get Trust Managers Need to Give Trust

It is important for a manager to create an environment of trust. This begins by trusting others. It is more effective to assume employees are trustworthy unless they prove otherwise rather than waiting to give trust when they haven’t earned it. As team members come to feel they are trusted by their manager, they will find it easier to trust in return.

Be Honest

Honesty is a very important factor that affects trust. Managers who demonstrate openness about their actions, intentions and vision, soon find that people respond positively to self disclosure and sincerity. As a manager share good and bad news openly. This can eliminate gossip and diffuse inappropriate politics. Great managers know that they are not perfect and they make mistakes. It is better for a manager to admit mistakes rather than ignore them or cover them up. A cover up (perceived or real) is probably the greatest single enemy to trust.

Establish Strong Business Ethics

Managers need to set moral values for the work place. Teams with common ethics are healthier, more productive, adaptable, responsive, and resourceful because they are united under one common value set.

Keep Your Word

Do what you say you will do and make your actions visible. Team members quickly pick up on insincerity and broken promises. Visibly keeping commitments will foster trust. If a manager neglects to make actions visible to the team it can create the impression/perception that they don’t follow through.

Keep Interactions Consistent and Predictable

Building trust is a process. Trust results from consistent and predictable interaction over time. If a manager responds differently from week to week it becomes harder to trust him or her.

Set the Tone for the Future from the Beginning

The initial actions of the manager establish norms and expectations. A manager should lead by example.

Be Accessible and Responsive

Find ways to be regularly available to team members. When interacting, be responsive. Unresponsiveness causes unease and distrust. Be action rather than talk oriented. Don’t just think about taking action-do it!

Maintain Confidences

Team members need to be able to express concerns, identify problems, share sensitive information, and surface relevant issues. It is important early on to get agreement as to how confidential data will be handled.

Watch your Language

It is important that a manager’s language does not imply “us” or “them”. Terminology should be easy to understand. Leaders should stick with business language and not use strong or vulgar language.

Create Social time for the Team

A lot of trust and confidence is built through informal social interaction. Successful managers ensure that social opportunities happen regularly.

Building trust with employees is critical for creating an effective team that works well together. Taking time to build trust will reap benefits for managers that last a long time.
